My hobby aside from watching anime, now includes translating manga from Japanese language to English

Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to learn the Japanese language. It all started with watching anime. Little by little, piece by piece, as I watched anime, I matched the Japanese words I heard with the English subtitles. I was able to understand some phrases, but I felt that a lot was still missing. It wasn’t until last year, around February 2022, that I decided to learn Nihongo properly, starting from the basics.
Since COVID pandemic was still prominent I searched online for Nihongo schools that offer online classes, and the first one that popped up was JLRC. I checked the reviews carefully, and they were alright. At first, I was worried about whether I could keep up with the coursework in an online class because it was my first time enrolling in one. But my strong desire to learn the Japanese language triumphed, and I enrolled in the N5 course.

During the duration of the whole course, I felt relieved that I could follow the lessons, little by little, of course, with the help of the very kind and patient teacher. I was able to learn about formal and informal Japanese, their complex writing system, their vocabulary, the language nuances, a little glimpse of Japanese culture, and much more. I am very pleased that I enrolled in JLRC. This investment in knowledge and learning was well worth it. After I finished the JLRC N5 course, I, without a single doubt, enrolled again for the N4 course and was able to finish the upgraded coursework again.

As for the actual application of what I have learned, I took the N5 JLPT in December 2022 and passed with a higher score than anticipated. I also took the N4 JLPT this past July 2023 and, unbelievably, passed with a PERFECT SCORE!!
I can now recognize Japanese including Kanji characters up to N4 level in different compositions (literature, manga, anime related posts in social media). My hobby aside from watching anime, now includes translating manga from Japanese language to English.

This was all possible thanks to the course materials at JLRC, my very kind and patient teacher, Andrea-sensei, and, of course, the Almighty God above. In the future, I am thinking of working in translation jobs or as an interpreter. I still continue studying Japanese (currently in JLRC’s N3 course), especially to improve my conversation skills so I can better talk with Japanese counterparts.
All in all, I am very satisfied that I have enrolled in JLRC. To everyone who wants to learn Nihongo for work reasons or any personal reasons, if you want to learn Nihongo properly and diligently, I highly recommend enrolling in JLRC.
